how we are with each other
Community guidelines
draft, pending legal reviewEveryone here trusted an invitation. Someone vouched for you, and you will vouch for others. These guidelines are how we keep that trust worth something. They are not legal fine print; they are the culture.
Consent is the whole point
This entire scene exists because of enthusiastic, freely given yes. That is the standard everywhere on imero, from the first message to the last dance.
- A no is complete. It needs no reason, no apology, and no follow-up question.
- An unanswered message is an answer. Sending it again is not persistence, it is pressure.
- Enthusiasm can be withdrawn at any moment, and the only correct response is grace.
Discretion protects everyone
Every member here has a life outside this one, and it is not yours to expose.
- What happens here stays here. Who you saw, what they shared, what happened at an event: none of it leaves.
- No screenshots. Ever. Of anything.
- No outing anyone. Recognising a colleague or a neighbour here means you both have a secret to keep, not a story to tell.
Be who you verified you are
Everyone on imero has proven they are a real adult. Honour that. Your photos are you, your profile is honest about who is behind it, and if you arrive as a couple, you arrive as the couple on the profile. The whole platform works because nobody here has to wonder.
Validation is a gift
Validations are how trust becomes visible here, and they only mean something if they are real.
- Write them after real meetings, about people you have actually spent time with.
- Never trade them. "You validate me and I'll validate you" makes them worthless for everyone.
- Be honest and be kind. Both at once is always possible.
At events
- House rules come first. Every venue has its own, and its hosts have the final word on their own floor.
- Hosts are looking out for everyone. If they step in, work with them, not against them.
- First-timers get extra kindness. Everyone remembers their first evening. Be the person who made it easier, not the one who made it tense.
What gets you removed
Most problems here are solved with a conversation. These are the ones that are not:
- Pretending to be someone you are not. Fake profiles and catfishing break the one promise this place is built on.
- Pushiness and harassment. Not taking no, or silence, for an answer.
- Sharing someone's private photos. In any way, to anyone, for any reason.
- Disrespecting boundaries. Online or at an event, stated or obvious.
- Anything involving minors. Zero tolerance, fast-tracked, and reported to authorities where required.
- Spam and scams. Selling, recruiting, or running any kind of hustle.
- Anything else that harms the community. We would rather have an honest catch-all than a loophole.
When we act, you get a written explanation, and you can appeal. Details are in the membership terms.
Saw something that worries you? Report it, even if you are not sure, even if it feels small. A report starts a conversation with a human, not an algorithm, and reporting is always confidential.
